So you’re not Korean, you’ve never heard Korean hip hop but there’s a part of you that’s slightly interested. If there is one group that I encourage you to listen to, it’s Epik High. Made up of two extremely talented emcees and one gifted DJ, Epik High has proven again and again why they stand as thee supreme hip hop badass group in Korea. Every album has blown me away and I’m itching to get their newly released “epilogue” album which, on a side note, shot to #1 on the iTunes hip hop album charts yesterday. Buy the album via iTunes and you’ll even receive a digital booklet of the album itself. 

Epik High knows how to work the KPOP mainstream world without selling out and that my friends, gains my respect tenfold. Their music is raw and unapologetic and if you’ve got a couple of bucks to spare, I say spend it on this album, you will not be disappointed. 

Not a lot of skits make me chuckle in amusement, but comedian/actor Aziz Ansari has managed to do just that for me. His new laugh out loud skit on Funny or Die has made me scared of Justin Beiber and I swear if I see “The Beib” anywhere near me, I’m calling the cops.

A reader of Perezhilton sent the Gossip Queen a HIGHlarious picture of the season 5 Jon and Kate Plus Eight DVD at Wal-Mart with a huge price sticker slapped on Jon’s face. Love the placement!

I longingly remember passing hundreds upon hundreds of hours of my childhood playing on my friend’s nifty Super Nintendo’s Donkey Kong, but Dr. Hank Chien, of NYC, took it back old school AND to a other-worldly new level by becoming the new world record holder for the classic arcade video game.

The Harvard-educated M.D. owns his own Donkey Kong machine, and played on it for two and half hours straight (Feb. 26-27) to gain the amazing score of 1,061,700, beating the old world record, set by Billy Mitchell, by 10,000 points. His fantastic feat was officially recognized by Twin Galaxies, “the official score keeper of electronic games.”

Chien had only started playing the time-sucking game last September, after having watched 2007 documentary, “King of Kong.” and quickly realized he was exceptionally good at it. When asked about his crowning achievement, he replied, “People may ask for my autograph walking down the street, but I don’t think its going to change my life.”

Um, I disagree. It’ll change it for the ultimate better when I contact you about our impending nuptials sir…tee hee.

I know that elementary and high school American History classes were, for the most part, nap-inducingly dismal, but I’m sure a lot of you still remember those sort of eerie black and white photos of 19th century Chinese immigrants, with their long braided ponytails (que), working on California’s various goldmines and railroads. Those images forever haunt me as reminders of the hellishly extreme racial prejudices that the first ever Asian Americans had to endure, to make way for the rest of us.

And now, the remains of some of those brave souls will be honored by having them transferred to their rightful final, final resting place.

The earliest Chinese settlers were denied citizenship and not allowed to marry or be buried with along with white Americans. A group of construction workers discovered one of these segregated cemeteries five years ago, which prompted the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority to begin “an exhaustive (and expensive) attempt to identify the century-old remains and locate their descendants.”

A ceremony was held this week at Evergreen Cemetery (once previously off-limits), where the official memorial wall was first displayed, which paid tribute to these former trailblazing Chinese Americans. The remains will be officially reinterred next month, following Ching Ming (”day for Chinese families to visit ancestors’ graves”).

This video is epic and I can’t wait till it goes viral. I’ve seen people get overly-exuberant over accomplishing certain challenges in life, but never have I witnessed something like this:

Oh My Gosh! Seven seconds is pretty darn impressive, but she’s acting like she just won the Nobel Peace Prize or a a trillion bucks. Nevertheless, her excitement is hilarious and gave me a start to a good day.

Comedian Mike O’Connell created an entire music video for Funny or Die expressing through song, his dire want for an Asian baby. The problem? No one will let him have an Asian baby so they jailed him up in a baby-themed prison.

Zac Efron’s right-hand girl, Vanessa Hudgens looked absolutely stunning at the 2010 Vanity Fairy Oscar party last night. The dress, the hair, the bronzed-skin, the make-up wow-ed me to no ends and Efron is pretty darn lucky having a looker like Hudgens on his right arm.

I’m not a huge fan of the actress but she definitely gets an A+ for her fashionista ways. I’m loving this black number on her!

If you don’t follow the Pussycat Dolls and their successful yet confusing careers, let’s update you. The group started out fully knowing that they would only be appetizers to the big entree, which was Nicole Scherzinger. But like anything else, jealousy and fame took over leaving each member dejected and angry. One by one, the members dropped out of the group, leaving Pussycat Doll fans in an uproar. Robin Antin the creator of the Dolls, exclusively told Perezhilton the following statement:

“I created The Pussycat Dolls in 1995 with one thought in my mind: “Inside every woman is a Pussycat Doll.” It was my dream to spread this message around the world.

For the past fifteen years there have been many amazing versions of The Pussycat Dolls. We began with Christina Applegate and Carmen Electra sharing the stage with many talented women, many of whom went on to pursue dreams of their own. And today is no different.

Some of the girls who have shared the stage and spotlight with Nicole are ready to begin artistic journeys of their own and I support them completely.

And so, too, must I keep moving forward.

I am happy to announce the creation of a NEW Pussycat Dolls, with Nicole Scherzinger continuing on as lead singer. We hope all our fans will join us on a journey that will prove to be a once-in-a-lifetime dream for many girls around the world.

So…. get ready for the NEW, HOT, SEXY, TALENTED PUSSYCAT DOLLS!!”

Why don’t they just change the group’s name to “Thee Pussycat Doll” and have Nicole just lead the whole shebang and let the back-up dancers/singers know in a written contract that they will be nothing compared to her. This whole concept and group confuses the pussycat out of me.
