Pants-On-The-Ground-Larry-Platts-and-D-Pryde

Russell Gilbert Llantino is known by his fans as D-Pryde and made a name for himself as a rapper and producer at just 15-years-old. Llantino, born and raised in Canada, is of Spanish and Filipino descent. Setting aside his young age and his ethnicity, what really separates D-Pryde from other artists is his talent. Like a lot of artists these days, D-Pryde posts videos and covers on his official YouTube account. In addition to rapping, D-Pryde also creates comedic shorts on a separate YouTube account.

He recently teamed up with fellow YouTube artist Tamra Davis to cover Drake’s hit song, Fireworks.  Check it out below!

J.Reyez takes the term “artist” to a whole new level

J.Reyez

J.Reyez is a Korean Canadian rapper with multiple talents. At just 19 years-old, he has gained a huge fan base which reaches an international audience through his Myspace, Youtube, Twitter and Facebook. Besides being an accomplished rapper, J.Reyez is a talented artist in the areas of graphic design, music producing/mixing, directing and editing.  He has produced all of his tracks and he recently directed and edited the music video to his English cover of Taeyang’s Wedding Dress.

In an interview with Hype of Toronto, HOT asked J.Reyez if he ever received any grief about being Asian:

“Nah, even though I get compared to Jin a lot since he’s one of the few Asian artists to break through to the industry but other than that, maybe a few white folks here and there saying I’m trying to be black aha. S’all good though, haters can hate. I don’t see a problem in having musical talent and using it for a certain genre because what difference is it if I made pop music? Since a majority of Caucasian people do pop, I’m trying to be white now? You know what I mean? Aha.”

His most recent music video, which came out a few days after his Wedding Dress MV, is called “This Pain.” The song revolves around J.Reyez’s experience of being put through the political mill of the entertainment industry. Each word of the rap is hard hitting and brutally honest. The music video adds the element of nostalgia, as old black and white footage of J.Reyez pass by in a tailored editing style. These old 2006 images are blended and juxtaposed nicely with scenes of J.Reyes rapping in colored footage.  Check out the music video below!

Picture 7

He became a Youtube sensation when his cover of Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body,” went viral and after a long hiatus, Kim Dong Wan is back with Carey’s “Dream Lover.” The outfit, the passion, the flowers make this video just as epic as every other video he’s ever made.

I love you!

Video that made Kim famous:

Jason Yang & Paul Dateh Do Cute

Picture 1

Talented violinists, Paul Dateh and Jason Yang got together with to Move Media Productions to film and perform a tremendously adorable skit using only their violins to perform their emotions and voices. The amount of cuteness this video holds, couldn’t even compare to a room full of smiling babies. Yes, it’s that fluffy.

SOUND OF THE POLICE

Please Just Stay This Cute

cuteKidWhateva_20100822_aatheory

During my freshman year of high school, I learned from one of my teachers that the most powerful word expression a kid can use against their parents is “Whatever.” It negates anything a person says. For instance, “Tie your shoelaces or you’re going to fall.” “Whatever.” See, instant nullification.

I forgot what my teacher was trying to tie that lesson to for the class. (It was for Health and Careers… I want to say it was about lifestyles.) I remembered that part of the lesson though, especially since I’ve used it on my parents before too.

So, I guess you can figure out my reaction to this video:

I had two reactions. My first reaction found this adorable. It’s cute. It’s really cute. She’s mastered the sassy facial and hand expressions so well that she’s just too precious for it. My other reaction came when I remember what my teacher said. Let’s hope she stays this cute and only uses “Whatevaaa” for entertainment.
