Tan Le Creates Headset that Reads Your Brain

feature-95-tan-le-2-pop_305

Tan Le is a whiz woman. She is the president of Emotiv Systems–a company she also co-founded–which created a headset that allows its user to control virtual objects by reading the user’s brainwaves. To operate the headset, the user simply needs to think and concentrate on the desired action. It eliminates the need for a mechanical interface between humans and the virtual world (i.e. mouse, remote, keyboard).

Even better, the headset can also be applied to real life physical actions such as turning the lights on and off, controlling a remote-controlled helicopter, and even operating an electric wheelchair. One helpful feature of this headset is the fact that it’s wireless, so the user can use it anywhere. If this device becomes popular and widely-used, think of how life-changing it could be!

The ten-minute video is worth watching to learn more. The headset is just the first step to other revolutionary devices that will give humans the power of mind control.

Mind Blowing Paper City

_PaperCity01_AAtheory

I’m always in awe of talented people who can create stunning visual art by using nothing more than limited materials and having an extreme passion.

With that said, take a look at this mini papercraft metropolis called, Umi no Ue no Oshiro (A Castle On The Ocean).  It took Japanese art student, Wataru Itou four years to construct – painstakingly cutting, folding, and gluing each piece.  The futuristic marvel also features a color-changing lighting system and moving train.

I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind living here!

How long would you wait for the one you love?

Better late than never.

Up until August 8, The Jubilee Project and various sponsors will donate $.30 for each and every view that the above, fetchingly sweet, video receives to LiNK: The Hundred, whose goal is to free 100 North Korean refugees. They have over 7,000 views already, but we can help them do better than that!

P.S. You have to watch until the very end or else you’ll be heartbroken-ly P.O’d like I foolishly was…oops.
