The September 2010 issue of American Vogue is out on the newsstands now and so is a four-page spread of Victoria’s Secret models, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Chanel Iman, Adriana Lima, and Alessandra Ambrosio.

The photographer, Peter Lindbergh went for a “vogue-ish and sophisticated” look and the behind-the-scenes video from Vogue.com shows that it was just that.

I mainly love how the BTS video shows us a tiny bit of Chanel Iman’s personality. She was all smiles during her interviewed parts. The quarter-Korean model is not only gorgeous but has a fun personality too!

September is thee month for fashion magazines and it’s all about who makes the cover, who and what made the editorial spreads. Jezebel did some research and came up with shocking conclusions regarding the number of black models found in several fashion editorials, not including ads or beauty spreads, strictly fashion shoots.

In the October 2007 issues they came up with the following counts:

But the NYPost says those claims are completely false and that Simmons was actually fired from Baby Phat:

Kimora was going over-budget. She’d pay herself a fee to be in the ads, plus she paid her children fees to appear in ads. It costs thousands of dollars to airbrush her because she’s a size 10. Plus, they spent a ton of money on body doubles. They would shoot another model in the clothes, and take Kimora’s head and put in on her body.

Kimora’s rep sent the NYPost the following statement:

“It’s time for me to move on and further expand my other businesses.”

Dsigner Park Sul Nyeo’s stunning hanboks, Korea’s traditional clothing, were fashioned in an unusual way during a promotional event for a new store opening in Seoul, Korea; models modeled the traditional wear underwater!

Wearing a hanbok underwater has got to be the most uncomfortable way to swim, ever. Nevertheless, the hanboks look beautiful and the models did such an amazing job making them as elegant as they could.

Teen Vogue will host its annual Fashion University in New York City on October 22nd – 24th.  This year’s Fashion University will feature several distinguished Asian American fashion designers including Vera Wang, Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, Rachel Roy, and Richard Chai.  Each fashion designer will host his or her own individual seminar which all students can attend.   Vera Wang will be featured as the event’s keynote speaker.

Prospective students can apply at Teen Vogue’s Fashion University’s website.  Ticket prices are $250, however scholarships are available. Teen Vogue promises this three day event to be packed with “fashion designers, stylists, entrepreneurs and exclusive shopping events!”

Vera Wang is known for her elegant wedding collection and is considered “the preeminent wedding designer,” of today’s fashion world.

But the craziest fashion faux pas of the night had to go to designer Betsey Johnson.

Wow, I love a little metallic fashion every now and then but it seems to be showing up on the red carpet constantly this summer.  Pretty Little Liars’ Shay Mitchell walked the red carpet at the Prince of Persia premiere wearing a subtle ice blue dress with silver beads and designs.  Nothing over showy but just enough to capture the light from the flashing cameras.

Just last week at The Sorcerer’s Apprentice premiere, Top Chef Masters’ host Kelly Choi showed up in a bright silver metallic mini-dress.  A very bright dress but Choi definitely made her presence know for sure!

The San Diego Comic-Con International rolls around every year at the end of July. It is one of the largest and most anticipated events in regards to comic books, video games, science fiction and in recent years, Hollywood. This year it begins on Thursday, July 22nd and ends on Sunday, July 25.

Many exclusive events and releases happen during Comic-Con which serves as reason to why I always want to go every year. This year I am not going and while I may have gotten over not being able to go, there are always some little announcements that make me wish I was going again.

Like this:

tokidoki, which means “sometimes” in Japanese, is a Japanese-inspired fashion brand and was created by Italian artist, Simone Legno in 2005.

I love the tokidoki designs and I love Capcom’s Street Fighter. (I suck at the video game, but that doesn’t stop me from playing it and resorting to button-pressing my thumbs away.)

At the San Diego Comic-Con, tokidoki will be selling 400 of this limited edition Street Fighter VS. tokidoki shirts at the Capcom and tokidoki booths.

So when I heard about this collaboration and it’s reveal at Comic-Con, I wished I was going again. The T-Shirt doesn’t look like much to me, but the prospect of this collaboration and what they can do with it is exciting. Hopefully this collaboration doesn’t end at Comic-Con and they produce a few other items similar to what tokidoki has done with their collaborations with Hello Kitty and Marvel.
