Meet the awesome team behind AAtheory.com.
Ellie: Founder of AAtheory.com & Writer
I’m short, loud, & I have huge feet. I’m known to talk way too much and way too fast. I started this site because I believe Asian Americans are well on their way to rock the American entertainment industry and I strongly support anybody who is willing to step out and break the barriers. I do hope you all enjoy and love this site as much as I have grown to love and appreciate it.

I’m a passion pursuer blogging from the land of clam chowder and Boston creme pie, but without that trademark “Bwa-ston” accent. A “borderline” city-girl placed in the suburbs who enjoys spontaneity despite carrying out conscientious adventures. Asian Americans are on the brink when it comes to showcasing themselves in the entertainment/athletic industry, however they need the support of fellow Asian Americans and require an outlet to make themselves known. What better way to get “plugged in” than to visit to AAtheory.com!

Favorite Disney princess growing up: I actually had two, Mulan and Jasmine. Mulan because she was my hero and Jasmine because I loved her outfits and she had a pet tiger.
What makes you happy?: Being with family, hanging out with friends, and writing. Three of my favorite things in the world!
Jennifer: Writer: Jenny
Everyone I know calls me Jenny. Without a doubt, I love learning about anything or anyone that has to do with cultures that are different from my own. I think my fascination comes from the fact I have 7 ethnicities in my blood. Let’s see, I’m Scottish, Polish, German, Danish, Swedish, and a little English & Irish. Another thing about me is I like to eat & I’m not afraid to do so because I’m a girl. I love spicy food & I’ll try any dish, even if it looks unappetizing.

My opthamologist is high up on my speed dial, and I can’t, ironically, wear most hats due to my cranial endowment. The last time I significantly supported Asian-Americans (or any Asian star in America), I voluntarily saw Romeo Must Die 5 times at the movie theater within the span of 1 week. Twas’ legit too, no theater hopping! Well, thank goodness for the almighty AAtheory.com and you all for giving me a “2nd chance” to befittingly lend my hand to all aspirational & inspiring Asian Americans.

Sarah: Writer: gogosaurus
Hi, I’m Sarah and I firmly believe that everything relates to Super Sentai (a.k.a. Power Rangers) & Digimon in some sort of way.I hail from the Bay Area where we “go dumb” and “get hyphy” and being Asian American is where it’s at. As a person, I try to be as real as I can be, be thankful as much as I can, and appreciate the things I take for granted every single day. I have a passion for God, for Kiwanis, and the little things in life (which is a lot of things if you think about it). It amazes me how small the world really is and how the next big thing could be sitting right next to you.
As an Asian American, specifically Filipino American, I want to learn more about “our history” so that I can learn more about myself and be able to pass on that knowledge to others. For instance… The term “Asian American” was coined during the 1968 SF State Student Strike to give the student activists an identity in their fight for ethnic studies. It has been 40 years since we have been given a voice, but the impact of Asian Americans in America has been very minimal. That is until AAtheory.com, of course.

Describe yourself in 5 words: Hella Chill. Sarcastic. Gleek. Legit.
What makes me happy? Quite honestly, I’m a child at heart and I am easily amused. Seriously, a lot of simple things make me happy and excited, like adventures to Jamba Juice to try out a secret menu item and see if the workers know it. It’s exciting when they do.

I’ve been a fan of Japanese music for a while and I began listening to Asian American singers on YouTube then Korean music and so on. I was amazed at how great these singers were, but the fact that they weren’t being shown on television and radio was kind of a bummer. It’s been changing slowly and I thought it would be awesome to be a part of it all. I want to do better with AAtheory and try to help promote Asian American artists in America.
