SFIAAFF Is Not Just About The Films
If you did not know by now, but the San Francisco Asian American Film Festival is THE largest showcase of the BEST Asian and Asian American films from all over the world.
AND it begins today, March 11th in San Francisco and closes on March 21st in San Jose, where it will showcase in three places: San Francisco, Berkeley, and San Jose.
Like I said before, SFIAAFF is the only place where you will see Asians and Asian Americans portrayed as regular people that we can all relate to, and not just some static caricature or stereotype.
Now besides having over 120 film presentations to chose from, there is more to SFIAAFF than watching movies.
SFIAAFF 2010 has an AH-MAZING line-up of special events and live events! Check them out:

Voices
Saturday, March 20, 2010 | 1:30pm Camera Cinema 10 (San Jose)
“This 10-minute documentary presented by Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) follows the stories—the successes, hardships, and hopes—of three Asian American immigrants in Silicon Valley. For generations, Asian American immigrants have settled in Silicon Valley in search of economic and other life opportunities. … Despite these struggles, many are working to make a positive impact in the local community. Among them are Nenita, a Filipina hotel worker campaigning for change in the workplace; Andy, a Chinese businessman volunteering as a financial counselor in his spare time; and Iris, a Vietnamese social worker and activist striving to build a community where all can succeed. For a region that has thrived on the ideas and labor of immigrants past and present, supporting these populations remains vital toward improving the health and growth of Silicon Valley. This piece explores community strength through the empowerment of immigrants, and prompts civic and political action toward making change. Followed by a presentation by AACI.”
