Asian Yale player gets the yelling of his life
Trinity University’s no.1 ranked squash player, Baset Chaudhry, got a little carried away during the National Squash Tournament. Right before his team won its 12th consecutive national title, Chaudhry hit the last point and proceeded to scream, no, yell in what sounded like he was in excruciating pain in his Asian opponent’s face. His opponent, who was a player for Yale University stood there emotionless while the 6ft 5in star screamed bloody murder in his face.
Though Chaudhry is incredibly apologetic for his reaction on the court, the executive committee of the College Squash Association is currently deliberating on whether to suspend him for the singles tournament taking place on March 5th in Trinity.
Paul Assaiante, the Trinity coach said, “We’re trying to talk right now what the proper approach is going to be. Once we figure that out, we’ll get a press release out. My guess is that it will be out in the next few days. But it’s at a higher level than me.”

I was at the match with my family. What is NOT shown is the Yale player 15 minutes earlier, doing the EXACT same thing to this Trinity player. He jumped and screamed in the Trinity’s player’s face after making a winning shot with just as much energy and zest for the moment.
2 wrongs do not make a right, but there were 2 wrongs. It is unfair to not penalize this Yale player too. Any other sport after reviewing the full tape of the incident, will hand out out equal infractions if another player was involved. This is exactly what happened here – the Yale boy taunted, screamed, jumped and yelled in the Trinity player’s face before this clip.
Both players let emotions get the best of them, yet we have only seen the clip of the Trinity player.
Shame on Yale for not accepting shared responsibility and sharing both clips back to back and letting us decide after seeing the entirety of the situation.
Both were at fault – let’s see the entire video before we judge!
And by the way, Baset is from Pakistan, so that makes him south asian by default.
